Who we are, what we do and why we do it!

MTW was established in 2010 to offer scholars, students and upcoming professionals a platform that provides them with practical training in the field of musical theatre. We offer a safe, professional theatre environment that is stimulating, educational and entertaining, where young people can surround themselves with all things musical theatre.

The Musical Theatre Workshop is for everyone, even those who simply want something exciting to do during the holidays. It is an opportunity to meet other young people who share the same passion and interest in the world of the Arts.

Taking part in our workshops also has valuable by products in that it offers students the chance to build on their confidence, understand body language and further their communication skills, whilst at the same time becoming a little more expressive, perhaps even finding their true potential!

For those who are interested in embarking on a career...

Pieter Toerien is proud to announce the children's auditions for the Tony award winning

27th 2017. The run of the show will end in Cape Town on January 07th 2018

We are looking for 3 boys and 3 girls aged 9-11. They must be good singers who can

hold a pitch as they will need to be able to harmonise. We require boys with unbroken

voices. We are looking for cute, sweet and innocent looking children. All ethnicities are

invited to audition.

AUDITIONS:

JOHANNESBURG

Auditions will take place at Fairways Primary School, Monday 03rd July 2017 @ 6pm.

Callbacks will be on Tuesday 04th July @ 6pm.

CAPE TOWN

Auditions will take place at Elkanah High School, Tableview on Thursday 29th June 2017

@ 6pm. Callbacks will be on Friday 30th June @ 6pm.

Please prepare the attached piece of music from the song SANTA EVITA. This should

be learnt off by heart. We will provide an accompanist. We encourage children to

connect emotionally and honestly with the lyrics and with what they are singing. There is

no need to ‘act’ out the song or to move and gesture unnecessarily.

Please contact us by email to book an audition slot for your child. We will get back to

you with a time. We look forward to meeting you!
